The RetailRescue Story..
POS International has been
supporting their customers since 1985! By far, our most critical issue in
support is the protection of our client's data. The good news is that the
Database used by both Power POS and Retail Power POS, is pretty bullet proof.
Many times a client will call with an error message and all the support person
needs to do is identify the type of error and then remedy it! In many
cases we can repair badly damaged data files by "rekeying" (reindexing) the
offending file.
However, as some of you have found out, this does not
always work. At those times, our support personnel still have a trick or 2
up their sleeve. But if that also does not work, the next thing that the
technician will ask is
"When did you do your last backup?" If
you have had that question posed to you, you will immediately identify with the
"sickening" feeling that goes along with it. First, even if you are doing
regular backups to tapes or discs, you wonder if the integrity and completeness
is there? The worst felling is to have been doing tape backups for years
and, when called upon to restore from one of these backups, find that there was
some kind of problem and you have just been saving empty, damaged, or incomplete
tapes. OR what if the answer is NO? Then how are you going to
recover? Basically, you will have to try to recreate your lost data
manually. This is an unconscionable error that we now have taken steps to
remedy!

We designed a complete backup suite for our Power POS and Retail Power POS
product lines.

INEXPENSIVE SOFTWARE.
Our RetailRescue software has been designed to be
FREE!
We charge a nominal Installation fee per location and a minimal monthly fee
for storing the data.

TIGHT INTEGRATION.
RetailRescue will eventually be a menu item on our NEWEST version of Retail
Power. But even before that, it will be able to be installed for clients
with ALL previous versions of our Power POS, GCeXpress.lite, or REX.net
products.

JUST WHAT YOU NEED.
Our support staff knows exactly what files need to be backed up, and that
information is "Hard coded" in to the product. When you select a "Data
Only" backup the software automatically knows just what files must be backed
up and does it without any guesswork on your part. RetailRescue can also
be configured to back up ANY data file you choose.

PEACE OF MIND. You
no longer have to worry or even think about your backups! RetailRescue
includes a Free Trial of the Kirby Task Scheduler that will run your backups unattended when the
store is closed! The Task scheduler can also be used to automatically
run other tasks as needed.

SECURITY.
There are no tapes, cd's, or media of any kind required. All backups done by
RetailRescue are stored on a REMOTE server in our Canadian Data Vault.
Then Our Data Vault is backed up regularly by the data center security system.

SAFETY.
All data is
moved to the Data Vault by means of an included VPN (Virtual Private Network)
and 1024 bit data encryption.

DATA.
All
backups are stored so you can easily restore a single file or a selection of
files from any stored backup set. They can be restored to the original
location or an alternate location.

you need is a high speed internet connection Cable, DSL, or T1.
